Wellness
At Mueller Pet Medical Center, we strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness Programs has immense rewards for both pets and owners.
Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include a Comprehensive Physical Exam, internal parasite testing, heartworm and flea control, vaccination program, spay and neuter package, and specialized blood tests for all life stages.
Comprehensive Physical Exam
The Comprehensive Physical Exam (CPE) is the basis for all health assessment. Generally speaking, for animals younger than six years old, we suggest a CPE annually. These exams include a full 15 system physical exam, fecal analysis and vaccines appropriate to your pet's lifestyle and environment. We will also address issues such as the need for flea and tick preventative and heartworm medications.
When animals are older than six years, we may suggest biannual CPEs to better monitor your pet's changing health status. In this age category we also suggest having blood work done annually to look for early stages of kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, and other assorted medical conditions. Common aging problems such as these, if caught early, can be remedied or helped with appropriate medication.
